# Auditober

> Auditober is a monthlong challenge for the audit community, starting

## What it is

A community innovation challenge for internal auditors, SOX and controls
testers, and GRC teams. It is often described as an audit hackathon or an
audit innovation hackathon: hackathon energy, but a month long, and everyone
leaves with everything. The point is collective intelligence and skill
sharing: build once, share with everyone, take everything home. An entry is
a workflow, a dashboard, or both, built for any phase of the audit:
planning and risk assessment, walkthroughs, testing and fieldwork, findings
and reporting.

## The eight categories

An entry is judged in one of eight categories. Each category winner takes
an AuditKeyboard home (auditkeyboard.com; not for sale at any price, it is
won here).

## Sharing

Every entry is shared with all participants. Everyone who enters leaves
with everyone's work. Exactly where and how entries are shared will be
stated in the published rules.

## Data safety

The challenge runs entirely on mock data. Nothing from a participant's
systems, workpapers or audit record is uploaded, and no real evidence is
ever needed to take part.

## Prizes

- The winner of each of the eight categories wins an AuditKeyboard
  (auditkeyboard.com).
- There is $1,000,000 in AssureSwarm subscriptions to be won.
- Full prize terms will be stated in the published rules; rules, judging
  and entry mechanics are not announced yet.

## How to sign up

Enter your work email in the form on https://auditober.com/ and press
"Sign me up". A work address is required: personal mailbox providers
(gmail.com, outlook.com, yahoo.com, icloud.com, proton.me and the like) and
temporary-mailbox services are refused. If the form will not accept your
address, email support@assureswarm.com instead. Signing up costs nothing and
takes no payment details; it tells us where to send the rules when they are
announced.
